“Promotional Message” route is generally used to promote or advertise any product or service. Such SMS can’t be sent on the mobile numbers, registered under NDNC register. Each SMS service provider ensures that no telemarketing SMS, other than SMS opted by the subscriber is sent to any DND registered customer, so we also.
Know Why? Network Service Provider maintain customer preference register for registering the preference of the mobile subscriber(s) under –
a) “Fully Blocked” stop of all types of commercial communications;
b) “Partially Blocked” stop all commercial communications, except SMS in respect of category or categories of preference indicated by the subscriber. Partially blocked categories are: Banking/Insurance/Financial Products/Credit Cards, Real Estate, Education, Health, Consumer goods and automobiles, Communication/Broadcasting/Entertainment/IT, Tourism and Leisure. A customer can choose multiple preferences also.
Mobile subscribers can give a request to their respective service providers for not receiving unsolicited commercial communications and to register under “Do Not Disturb-DND” list.
Agencies have to ensure that before sending any SMS to a telecom subscriber, scrub the mobile number of the subscriber with the database of National Customer preference register before sending any SMS. Registered telemarketer shall be allowed to download NCPR data from website www.nccptrai.gov.in through unique user name and password.
Do you know? In case, anyone fails to follow the data scrubbing process, services allotted to the agency shall be disconnected and his name shall be entered into the black list for a period of two years with fine.
Oh…., well you need not to worry about all this. We have solution available for our customers to scrub DND register mobile numbers from your targeting list. Our SMS Panel automatically Filter & Block SMS delivery on all DND registered mobile subscribers to ensure delivery of promotional SMSs to the customers only, according to their preference made to National Customer Preference Register. So, even if SMS is mistakenly sent on DND number, we will not deliver it. Also you will not be charged for the SMS, sent on any DND numbers using promotional route.
Note: Promotional SMS can be only sent between 09:00 am to 09:00pm times. SMS sent/scheduled between this timing will not go.
Transactional SMS: Voice call or SMS made using “Transactional Route” is the one that is used to transmit for information for the purpose of informing about any commercial transaction in relation to goods, investment or services. Like—
(i) Information sent to its customer(s) pertaining to the account of that customer(s)
(ii) Information given by Airlines or Indian Railways or its authorized agencies to its passengers regarding travel schedules, ticket booking and reservation;
(iii) Information from a registered educational institution to parents or guardians of its students;
TextBoat strictly follow the rules of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) so it’s recommended not to send promotional content on DND numbers. However, using Transactional route you can still send promotional offers/discount info to your customer’s, even if their number is registered in NDNC. For customer’s convenience and to avoid any regulation issue, we send OPT-OUT SMS to every DND number so that the user can unsubscribe receiving SMS from a particular sender ID. We do send the OPTOUT SMS every 3 months for a particular Sender ID.
By this way customers can easily opt-in/opt-out of your messaging campaigns according to their convenience. This help in getting only niche audience that is actually interested in your product or services and make you safe from any legal problem.
You can request us to remove the OPT-OUT SMS by sending us a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and this feature will be removed from your account.
